EL PROBLEMA is a documentary shedding light on the forgotten conflict of Western Sahara, the last Spanish colonyWhen Spain abandoned the territory in 1975 without holding the referendum on self-determination demanded by the United Nations, Morocco took advantage by illegally occupying Western Sahara. Through the testimonials and images of victims of this conflict, the so-called ‘problem’ is discussed, offering a comprehensive overview and unique insight into the challenges Western Saharan people have been facing since 1975.
