The festival opens on Saturday 10th November with the new film from One Fine Day productions, NAIROBI HALF LIFE, which sees famous German filmmaker Tom Tykwer work in collaboration with rising Kenyan film talent David Tosh Gitonga. Mwas, played by award-winning actor Joseph Wairimu, is a young aspiring actor, who moves from his home village to the bustle of Kenya’s capital. As he tries to reach his dream of taking centre stage, he finds himself drawn into a world of small time crooks and deceit. NAIROBI HALF LIFE has recently been announced as Kenya’s official submission to the 2012 Academy Awards.
